Being a GTCS Standard Bearer

The consultation finishes tomorrow, Friday the 6th of November.

Although ongoing for nearly two years, the GTCS have now seen fit to slip the new Standards through during a worldwide pandemic. There seems to be little need for this, especially when teachers are focused on the recovery curriculum. Anyway, I haver responded by trying to assess how my working life as a teacher compares to the new Standard for Full Registration. My general feeling is 'deregistration awaits those who treat it seriously.' Similar to the 2012 version, it will be ignored and be irrelevant except to the Ferrari Careerists determined to reach classroom escape velocity faster than a Saturn rocket aiming for the moon.

Due to time constraints and workload issues, I have only really revisited them this week. My response is patchy and fatigued but it is also honest. Interestingly, a quick glance at the GTCS site only allowed this short response:

The reason for brevity is that I assumed this would lead to a more intensive examination of the Standards. I clicked ….and that was it!

Hence, I have added my response in word and pdf format.

Finally - I could be wrong and I welcome contrary opinions.
